Lottery Jackpots - More Skirt Action

Lottery Jackpots

Lottery Number AdvisorIn my last post, Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #4, I showed examples of two lotteries whose Balanced Wager Scores are distributed exactly as I predicted they would; a Bell-Shaped Curve. So, to Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery, your Lottery Strategies should be: Don’t play wagers that are in the skirts of the graph. In other words, don’t play wagers whose Balance Game Scores fall to the extreme left or right on the graph. Don’t spend money on the skirts.

But, apparently not all of you are convinced yet. Two examples were not enough. It’s OK. I understand. So, here are three more examples. To satisfy the most people, I’ve selected the three of the most popular lotteries in the USA; the MM556 MegaMillions multi-state lottery, the NY659 New York Lotto and the FL653 Florida Lotto. Here they are.

Again, as you can see, most of the winning numbers have fallen between values of 30 to 70. In future drawings, you can adjust these limits to suit your own tastes. Using this technique conservatively will Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery in nearly all lottery drawings and bring those Lottery Jackpots a little closer.

Lottery Number AdvisorIn my last post, Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #3, I promised you that I would prove that Balanced Wager Restrictions are not theoretical, that I’m not just playing games with the numbers. Not only is this strategy valid, it plays out in every lottery just as the Balanced Wager Distribution graph predicts. I’ve repeated that graph below.

Lottery Jackpots

The graph above is for a 6/54 lottery; like Lotto Texas. The graph for other lotteries would look identical except for the vertical scale on the left. For instance, for a 6/48 lottery, like the Hoosier Lotto in Indiana, the top of the scale would be 400,000 instead of the 800,000 shown above.  This is because there are 25,827,165 possible wagers in a 6/54 game but only 12,271,512 possible wagers in a 6/48 game.

The Bottom Line

As examples, let’s look at historical graphs of 312 TX654 drawings and 342 IN648 drawings. In these graphs the Balanced Wager Score for each drawing is plotted on the left and a histogram showing the cumulative results is shown to the right.

Lotto Texas TX654

It is clear. The Balanced Wager Scores for actual drawings in the Lotto Texas 6/54 lottery follow the Bell-Shaped curve distribution that I predicted.

Hoosier Lotto 6/48

Hoosier Lotto 6/48

Notice the same characteristics for the Hoosier Lotto 6/48. As I stated earlier, this is true for all lotteries. This technique will Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery no matter what lottery you are playing!

Allow me to state the obvious. Having the right Lottery Software can have a huge impact on the wagering decisions you make.

Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #3

Lottery Jackpots

Lottery Number AdvisorIn my last post, Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #2, I defined what a Balanced Wager was and showed you how the Balanced Wager Distribution graph worked. Now we are ready for the bottom line; How can this graph Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots? The graph is repeated below.

LONA™ calculates the scores and plots the graph for all 25 million plus possible wagers for a 6/54 game. Every wager is accounted for. The graph clearly shows that the vast majority of wagers fall between scores of 30 to 70. There are fewer and fewer wagers with values less than 30 or greater than 70. We say that the graph tails off to the right and to the left. Also, these are often referred to as the skirts of the graph.

Notice that part of the graph on each side is red. This indicates that I placed restrictions for any wager with a score less than 19 or greater than 81. The effect of doing this is that LONA™ will only generate wagers that fall between scores of 20 and 80. No money will be spent on tails. Perhaps the title of this series of posts is starting to make more sense now. But, If it is still not obvious why I’m doing this, let me explain further.

Lottery Jackpots

As it turns out, less than 1% of all possible wagers have scores in the red restricted zone. Therefore, the chances against the winning lottery numbers having a Balanced Wager score in the red zone are 100 to 1. Do you know many people who regularly bet on 100 to 1 shots? Probably not. It’s simply not a smart play.

This simple technique will Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery in two ways:

  • 1. You will not be wasting your money on 100 to 1 shots.
  • 2. The money you do spend will be concentrated green zone, where there is a 99% chance of finding the winning lottery numbers.

Let’s see if I can put this in perspective. If a lottery has 2 drawings per week, there will be 104 drawings per year. Therefore, over the next year, applying this Lottery Strategy will work in 103 out of 104 drawings.

Keep in mind, with the right Lottery Software, there are many more techniques just like this to Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots. We’re just skimming the surface. But, I know that some of you are saying that this is just theoretical, that I’m just playing games with the numbers. You’re wrong. And in the next post, I’ll prove it to you.

Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #2

Lottery Jackpots

Lottery Number AdvisorIn my last post, Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on Tails #1, I introduced the famous Bell Shaped Curve. One such graph from the Lottery Number Advisor called the Balanced Wager Distribution graph and it is shown below. Before showing you how this graph can Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots, I need to explain what a Balanced Wager is.

Early lottery strategists observed that the average value of winning lottery numbers tended to cluster near the middle. In a 6/54 lottery, the six winning numbers would be spread out over the range of 1 to 54 and their average value would be around 27; right in the middle. For example, if the winning numbers were 3-11-24-31-39-53 the average value would be:

(3+11+24+31+39+53)/6  = 26.83

Instead of averaging, let’s make it simpler and just add them up and call this the Balanced Wager Score.

3+11+24+31+39+53 = 161

Now the lowest possible score would occur if the winning numbers were 1-2-3-4-5-6 or 21. The highest possible score would be 49-50-51-52-53-54 or 309. Therefore, the middle would be around 165. Any wager where the sum of the numbers is in the vicinity of 165 would be considered a Balanced Wager.

In a 6/54 lottery, there are 25,827,165 possible wagers! The graph below shows how the Balance Wager Scores for all of these wagers are distributed from lowest score to the highest. Scores range from 0 to 100. So, a Balanced Wager score of 21 is the same as 0, a score of 309 is the same as 100 and a score of 165 (a Balanced Wager) is 50; right in the middle.

Lottery Jackpots

The graph shows that there are nearly 800,000 wagers with scores of 50 (165). In fact, it’s easy to see that most of the wagers fall in the range between 30 and 70.

But, understanding what a Balanced Wager Distribution graph is, and how to use it to Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots and save you money at the same time, are two different things. In the next post, I’ll begin to show you how it’s done.

Lottery Jackpots - Don’t Bet on the Tails - #1

Lottery Jackpots

Lottery Number AdvisorMy last post, Lottery Tools - Truths to Lies, set the stage for the next series of posts where I’ll demonstrate several methods that can Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots. Of course, these methods require the use of a computer and some good Lottery Software. As for myself, I’m using LONA™, the Lottery Number Advisor.

One mathematical tool used throughout business, industry and government is the Second Fundamental Theorem of Probability; better known as the Central Limit Theorem or CLT. If you want some background, visit this Wikipedia page on the CLT.

You may not recognize the name of the theorem but, you’ve seen the results many times and know it better as the famous Bell Shaped Curve. One such graph, taken from LONA™, is shown below.

Lottery Jackpots

Now, if you’re not impressed with this graph, you should be. Because, this single graph can Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lottery Jackpots and save you money at the same time. Before I show you how that is done, I need to explain what a Balanced Wager is. I’ll do that in my next post.

Things are just starting to get interesting. So, don’t miss the next posts.
