Winning the Lottery - Its Nice to Have an Edge

Winning the Lottery

Lottery Number AdvisorLets start putting the Lottery Footprint (LFP) to work on a real lottery. I’ve selected Lotto Texas because it is closest to the example lottery I used in the last post. If you’re a newcomer and haven’t the slightest, then go back and read Winning Lotto Strategies - Donald Trump Has a Pretty Big Shoe, to bring yourself up to speed.

In the TX654 lottery there are 25,827,165 possible wagers. Therefore, the denominator in the LFP is 25.827165. So, for the typical player, spending $25 dollars, his LFP is:

LFP = 25/25.827165 = 0.97

But, you’re not the typical player, you use LONA™, your Lottery Number Advisor. Using the various Lottery Tools, you’ve created a 40 number Play List. A 40 number Play List has 3,838,380 possible wagers. So, if you also spend $25, your LFP is much better.

LFP = 25/3.83838 = 6.51

Even though your cost was the same, your Lottery Footprint is much bigger; you have much better coverage.

This raises an interesting question, How much would the typical player have to spend to achieve the same LFP as you? The answer is:

Dollars = 6.51 x 25.827165 = $168

WOW! The typical lottery player in Texas would have to spend $168 to achieve the same coverage, the same LFP that you have.

Isn’t it nice to have an edge? But, hold on. We’re not done with LFP yet. In fact, we’re just getting started. Now that we have a way to compare Lottery Strategies, lets use that edge to cut a little deeper tomorrow.

Lottery Statistics - That’s odd.

Skeptics of Lottery Number Patterns and trends don’t hesitate to roll out this statement in defense of their position. “All wagers are equally likely to win.” This may surprise you but I agree with this statement. However, at the same time, I’m not going to play 1-11-19-27-35-47 as a wager in the next drawing. Why not? Because, the wager contains all odd numbers and Lottery Statistics show that this is a poor bet.

Let’s use a graph to make my point. To create the graph, LONA™ will analyze all 25,827,165 possible wagers in the Lotto Texas 6/54 lottery. She will classify each wager by the quantity of odd numbers present in the wager. The bottom of the graph shows how many odd numbers there are in a wager; ranging from 0 to 6. The left side shows how many wagers meet that requirement.

The graph clearly shows that, relatively speaking, there are not very many wagers with 6 odd numbers. In fact, only 1% of all possible winning wagers contain 6 odd numbers. So, the odds are 1:100 that the winning numbers will all be odd. Notice the same is true for 0 odd numbers; in other words all even. Not a good bet.
