Without a good Play List, everything else you do to Improve Your Chances is a waste of time and money. But, why settle for a good Play List when you can have one of the Best Play List? In the next series of posts, real world examples of how important this aspect of your game is will be shown.
Let’s set the stage. To start out, 234 drawings from the New York Lotto 6 out of 59 lottery are used. From these drawings, a 30 number Play List is created for use in the next drawing. Our goal is to select 30 numbers that have produced more jackpot winners (all 6 winning numbers) than other 30 number lists.
On the average, randomly selected 30 number Play Lists will provide only 3 jackpot winners over the 234 drawings. Here’s where this number came from. There are 45,057,474 possible 6 number combinations of 59 numbers. There are 593,775 possible 6 number combinations of 30 numbers. Therefore, we should expect that 593,775/45,057,474, or 1.34%, of the 234 drawings will have all 6 winning numbers. 1.34% of 234 drawings is 3 drawings.
Therefore, this number becomes our reference point. Any 30 number Play List that has produced more than 3 winners is an improvement. So, our task is to find Play Lists that outperform the average.
